Ethan Funk's resume

Before joining Red Mountain Radio, Ethan Funk was an independent consultant. His consulting work included design of transmitters and receivers, analog design for a pen capable of recording what has been written, feasibility studies for space based GPS systems, and development of control devices for interactive museum exhibits.

Mr. Funk has also worked as a Senior RF Design Engineer at Racal Communications Inc. in Rockville, MD where he was responsible for VHF radio subsystem design and at Harris RF Communications in Rochester NY where his responsibilities included rack level system design.

Before joining Red Mountain Radio, Eric Funk was a research engineer at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington DC. His NRL research involved laser radar, high dynamic range multiplexed radio over fiber, and photonic signal processing. He has also worked as a Senior RF design engineer at EER Systems Inc., in Chantilly, VA where he designed point-to-multipoint 28 GHz customer premise equipment. Before joining EER Sytems, he was a Research Associate at the University of Maryland where he developed a wireless ultra-wideband receiver with photonic processing.

Dr. Funk has also served as a guest editor of the (2003) Microwave Photonics Special Issue of the  IEEE Journal on Lightwave Technology, and was previously Chapter Chair of the Washington, DC /Northern Virginia  IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S).
